Stainless steel roller chain is great for corrosive applications where the chain may come into contact with water, alkalies or chemicals. The material used for our stainless chain is #304. Stainless chains are also great for applications with extreme temperature ranges. Stainless is naturally a softer material and has less tensile strength compared to a carbon steel roller chain. Due to this, Nitro™ stainless chains are manufactured with both solid rollers & solid bushings to increase the strength and reduce the stretch. Many competitors will use split bushings & rollers to lower the cost, however this will lower the strength. #316 stainless steel roller chain is available by quotation for OEM's & resellers that have volume requests.
Need something stronger than stainless steel? An alternative for a high corrosive resistance roller chain is our Dacromet roller chain, which is carbon steel chain with a highly corrosive resistant Dacromet coating.
