Stainless steel roller chain is great for corrosive applications where the chain may come into contact with water, alkalies or chemicals. The material used for our stainless chain is #304. We offer stainless chains is ANSI, Metric, Conveyor & Extended Pitch. These chains are also great for applications that have extreme temperature ranges. Stainless is naturally a softer material and has less tensile strength compared to a carbon steel roller chain. Due to this, Nitro™ SS chains are manufactured with both solid rollers & solid bushings to increase the strength, wear resistance that ultimately increases the longevity. Many competitors will use split bushings & rollers to lower the cost, however this significantly decreases the strength and will stretch at a much faster rate. #316 stainless steel roller chain is available by quotation for OEM's & resellers that have volume requests.
Need something stronger than stainless steel? An alternative for a medium to high corrosive resistance chain is our Dacromet roller chain. This is a carbon steel chain with a highly corrosive resistant baked on Dacromet coating.
